Starting January 1, 2024, all SIS-A Assessments will be conducted using the Supports Intensity Scale-Adult® 2nd Edition. The second edition of the SIS-A was released in January 2023 and includes updated norms as well as several enhancements. ODP is collaborating with The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) and Acentra (formerly Kepro) to ensure that all assessors are trained and qualified to administer the new assessment by January 1, 2024.
In addition to the changes mentioned in ODP Announcement 23-059, the SIS Family Friendly Report will be renamed the SIS Summary Report and restructured to be more user-friendly and person-centered. The SIS Summary Report, like the SIS Family Friendly Report, will be retrieved by Supports Coordinators through HCSIS, and all assessments completed prior to January 1, 2024, will remain in the SIS Family Friendly Report format. The Level of Care Reevaluation Tool which uses the SIS assessment will also be updated to align with the SIS-A® 2nd Ed. prior to January 1, 2024.
ODP is partnering with AAIDD to provide two informational sessions on the SIS-A® 2nd Ed for all stakeholders. The dates for the informational sessions are December 14, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM and December 18, 2023 from 1 PM to 2 PM.
