Authentically addressing the historical research and practice harms experienced by persons with IDD-MH and their families require that we, within the research community, acknowledge and apologize for these acts. Attendees will be able to: 1) Describe the collaborative design, implementation, and evaluation of Truth and Reconciliation (T&R) forums designed to build the capacity of persons with IDD and mental health service experiences (IDD-MH), families, and mental health researchers to collaborate in research. 2) Identify four key lessons learned throughout the collaborative process.
