SEED Partner NCSL Highlights Disability Employment Among State Legislators
The State Exchange on Employment & Disability (SEED), along with ODEP leadership, participated in the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit in Indianapolis this week to promote disability-inclusive state policymaking. ODEP Assistant Secretary Taryn Williams provided remarks during a peer-to-peer exchange on state as a model employer, where state legislators and staff discussed the creation and implementation of effective policies that promote the recruitment and retention of workers with disabilities in state government. Assistant Secretary Williams also joined the Women’s Legislative Network Policy Roundtable, “Addressing State Worker Shortages through Inclusive Employment Policies,” to discuss increasing the workforce participation of women, including women with disabilities and other underrepresented groups, with women legislators from across the country. Both events were hosted in collaboration with SEED. Click here to learn more about SEED.
