PATF is proud to share their organization’s growth in our 2022-2023 Impact Report. Over the past year, they have successfully expanded their reach and developed innovative programs to meet the needs of people with disabilities and older adults, ensuring they have access to the assistive technology (AT) and services they want. But that’s not all – 2023 marks a momentous occasion for Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF), as they celebrate their 25th anniversary! The PATF Impact Report includes a timeline that details some amazing achievements in the disability community over the past quarter century.

As part of our Smart Homes Made Simple program, we’re continuing to talk with people with disabilities who use smart home devices so they can live more independently.
In this new video, Alexa shows us around her home and demonstrates how she uses smart home technology. Alexa talks with Susan Tachau, PATF’s Chief Innovation Officer, about her devices.
Alexa controls many of her smart devices with the Alexa app on her phone, as well as using voice commands to raise and lower blinds, open and close the front door, and turn the lights or fan on and off.
Alexa lives in Cumberland County and works for the ARC of Pennsylvania as the Social Media Manager.
