SIS Assessments and NL/NG Changes

To All Office of Developmental Programs Providers:

As the Department works to address a more permanent solution related to timing and communication between IT systems related to SIS assessment results and subsequent Needs Level/Needs Group (NG/NL) assignments in HCSIS, the Department will accept requests for extensions of current individual NG/NL assignments. In circumstances in which a provider needs time to make adjustments to individual services and supports in response to changes in an individual’s NL/NG, providers may request up to 30 days from the effective date of the individual’s SIS at the current NL/NG. Requests for this 30 day maximum extension may be emailed to the Rate Setting Resource Account [email protected] .

As a reminder, Providers who have the following HCSIS user roles, ProvlspRevr and ProvrRgstrDataEntry, receive alerts when a NG changes and no longer aligns with the needs-based service in an individual’s current approved plan.  This alert provides the individual’s name, MCI, prior effective date, prior NL/NG assignment, current effective begin date, current NL/NG, plan begin date, and plan end date.
