New Report Examines the Use of Technology & Remote Supports for People with I/DD

ANCOR is pleased to share a new resource, Expanding the Use of Remote Supports for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, with members and partners who are interested in expanding the use of remote supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

ANCOR was invited by our colleagues to participate in the interdisciplinary work group to develop the report. The working group included ANCOR’s Chief Operating Officer Gabrielle Sedor, Dr. Shea Tanis from Kansas State University, Marc Tassé and Jordan Wagner from Ohio State University, and Kandi Pickard of the National Down Syndrome Society.

The report explores barriers to the usage of technology and recommends actionable steps that could be adopted by states, service providers, case managers, support staff, and families to accelerate the adoption of technology and remote supports. These recommendations include:

  • Building partnerships with technology companies
  • Tracking the growth of remote supports across states
  • Creating a national peer-to-peer video library
  • Prioritizing data collection methods

Read more data, analysis, and recommendations in the report, which you are welcome to use in your own planning and advocacy efforts.
